Accessibility Statement
Our commitment
Florida Trail Riders, Inc. wants floridatrailriders.com to work for every rider, family member, and fan, including people with disabilities. We are working to improve the site's accessibility over time, and we welcome feedback on any barrier you run into.
Conformance status
Our goal is to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. Published by the W3C, these guidelines explain how to make web content usable for people with a wide range of disabilities.
floridatrailriders.com is currently partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. This means some parts of the site do not yet fully meet the standard. We are working to close those gaps.
What we do to support accessibility
- Provide a "Skip to content" link so keyboard and screen reader users can bypass the menu.
- Make site navigation and menus usable with a keyboard.
- Add text descriptions to images, including sponsor logos, event graphics, and photos.
- Use clear headings and descriptive link text so pages are easy to scan.
- Provide a pause control for moving content, such as the sponsor carousel.
- Check color contrast on banners, buttons, and text.
- Consider accessibility when we add new pages, events, and magazine issues.
- Review the site periodically against WCAG 2.1 Level AA.
Known limitations
Some content on the site is not yet fully accessible. If any of it gets in your way, contact us and we will provide the information another way.
- FTR Magazine issues are hosted on Issuu, a third-party reader. We do not control its accessibility. We can provide an accessible copy of any current issue on request.
- Vintage FTR magazines are scanned page images, which screen readers cannot read. We can help with specific articles on request.
- Downloadable documents such as rule books, event flyers, scores, and meeting minutes may be PDFs or images that are not fully accessible.
- Third-party sites and tools linked from our site are run by others. These include the FTR forum, the bike number availability list, our social media pages, sponsor websites, and the Shopify checkout.
- Photo galleries and older pages may have images without complete descriptions. We are updating these over time.
Compatibility
The site is designed to work with current versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge on desktop and mobile. It is also designed to work with common assistive technologies, including screen readers such as JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, and TalkBack, and with browser zoom and screen magnifiers.
The site's accessibility relies on HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and WAI-ARIA. Older browsers, including Internet Explorer, are not supported.
